Welcome to North Perth Westfield Elementary School.  Westfield is the newest school in the Avon Maitland District School Board opening in September 2016.  We are a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 school located in the growing community of Listowel, Ontario.   It is with great pleasure and an honor to serve you as the new principal of Westfield this year. I look forward to working alongside the community.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich legacy of success and so many points of pride since the opening year.

 

With just over 700 students in JK to Grade 8, and 60 enthusiastic, caring and dedicated staff members, we share our Warrior pride in hard work and student achievement each and every day.

 

We will continue to our school focused on student learning and cultivating character. We teach our students about social responsibility and the HOAP process (honesty, ownership, apology and plan). We are also excited to be returning to our focus on the Human Kindness Project and creating an inclusive, safe and supportive community where we all grow and learn.  We believe our job as educators is not just to create great students, but to build great citizens. We are also a member of the North Perth Community of Character.

 

Our School Council has embarked on a significant fundraising project to purchase playground equipment for all grades to help us to stay active and healthy.  With the support of our community for funding as well as their expertise we are hopeful that our playground will also be graced with an outdoor learning center that has Indigenous learning as it's focal point.  Our native plants, additional trees and shrubs and beautification will support our work in reconciliation and growing in our learning as stewards of our land.
